Bingo in the morning? Yes please.
(Updated April 2, 2024) CAPE MAY, N.J. — One of Cape May MAC’s kitchy-est events is a load of fun. Laugh along with your friends as you play a little bingo, compete for prizes and enjoy a fashion show by Lace Silhouettes/Cotton Company during Brunch & Bingo at the Inn of Cape May.
There is always a lot of excitement in the air as the bingo cage whirrs ‘round and ‘round and the bingo balls tumble out into a perfect little line, waiting.
“B-9!” says Janice Corkery, loudly, into the microphone, looking closely at the tiny wooden ball at a recent event. She is Director of Visitor Services and Special Events for Cape May MAC (Museums+Arts+Culture) in Cape May.
Janice needed the microphone so the full room of participants from front to back could hear clearly — no one wants to miss out — although when bingo is in play the room gets pretty quiet. Each person listens intently, as each letter and number are drawn. Otherwise, the room can get downright cacophonous, loud and lively with conversation and friends catching up.
Lace Silhouettes is a partner in the event and fashion models stroll the room wearing some of the shop’s most enticing and comfy clothes, to enable participants to see and feel the luscious fabrics from their lounge wear and undergarment lines.
Brunch & Bingo at the Inn of Cape May will be offered in 2024 on the following dates: April 6 and May 11 at 9 a.m. by Cape May MAC in partnership with Inn of Cape May and Lace Silhouettes. For tickets and more information, click here.
